Robotic Program:

(Email from Richmond State School who held their Open Day Thursday 6th September 2007.)

We had some time up our sleeves before the open day start so we lined up the year 4 and 5 classes to watch the powerpoint...they loved it! It was so good to see them so interested and asking so many questions. I'm sure they would have talked about it afterwards and spread the word. We will go around to the other classes and show them what its all about.

Thank you for all the effort that you put into getting things together for us under such short notice, it was definately appreciated.

The feedback from the kids was...WOW! I think that speaks for itself.

Thanks again,

Ranita (Whebell)

(Robotic Site)  Dear Ralph and Lorraine,  (July 2006)

Very impressive.  The site looks really good, in fact, excellent.  The interactive side of it I think takes it so much further and it gives it quite a professional feel.

The video clips are good, and it would be good to see some of these schools get involved with this.  Let us know when the site updates again.

Dear Ralph and Lorraine,   Thank you very much for the photos.  The sun photo is fantastic.  (TTIE took a photo of the Sun during our visit) The feedback that I have received about your visit has been very positive.  The adults particularly enjoyed the night show and gained a lot of knowledge- the kids who attended were also very excited about it.  The teachers enjoyed the solar presentation and found it very worthwhile.  The high school students thought it was great and very colourful. I haven't specifically spoken to the little ones yet.

On behalf of the staff and students, thank you very much for offering such a wonderful prize for the Goondiwindi Conference - we were very lucky to win it and I am so glad our students and parents have had the opportunity to learn more about our night sky particularly.  I look forward to catching up with you again next year.  Regards, Fran (Hodgson) Acting Principal, Texas State School Qld.  (June 2006)

Dear Ralph and Lorraine

Just a quick note to thank you very much for your outstanding astronomical show in Inglewood on Thursday, 3rd November 2005.

Your excellent knowledge and easy explanations of all the objects viewed made it easy for all students and teachers to understand. I have had lots of positive feedback from students and teachers who attended. Thank you also for the laminated souvenirs of the night, they have been put in various classrooms around the school.

Once again thank you for a lovely, informative evening and I look forward to seeing you again next year.

Kindest regards
Debbie Grills

Bokarina State School
Sunshine Coast – Day solar (and night “open”)
Lorraine and Ralph,
Thanks for yesterday, we all really enjoyed it. I think the children who came last night had a good time and were the most interested in it. It was great seeing them be enthused by what they saw, a pity it was so cold..
Looking through the Telescopes was the best part of the day, actually seeing it for yourself;
The night show was better as there wasn't as long a wait to have a look through; what we were seeing as we changed positions and looked at different parts of the sky and that was excellent. I would have loved to have seen it connected to the projector as you said you had done in the past as well as through the telescope myself. The DVD shown at the beginning of the night show was really interesting and the pictures were stunning; (8-12yrs) who went - the information was very deep. I am sure some of the children who are fully into it got something out of it. Please take this as constructive feedback as I think the concept you have and the opportunity and knowledge you can provide is fabulous.
Thanks again for the day

Allenstown State School Visit – Tues 26 July 2005 Night Show.
Teacher Mrs Phoebe Waldron’s testimonial: Email 28 July 2005

Quote:
Thank you very much for Tuesday night – once again it was terrific!
I think that the teachers enjoyed the night as much as the children, and the parent feedback we have received has been amazing. The

children have been buzzing since the night - The fact that they actually got to see 'Jupiter' in REAL LIFE!! :) was something that they will remember for a long time. It was much better to see the objects in the sky in real time, rather than just a picture or getting an 'idea' of what is up there.

I would thoroughly recommend schools to take advantage of the excellent service that you provide. The fact that you have everything needed for the night is great - takes a lot of stress off of the teachers. You have both been incredibly easy to talk to throughout, and you are approachable and understanding to the situations faced by teachers when trying to organise such an event.

You kept the children engaged during the time that they were not actually looking through the telescopes, your equipment was
A +......and you interacted with the children and parents very well - a very professional show. Thank you so much for a wonderful night - I am sure Allenstown will see you both again in the not so distant future.

Thanks!
Phoebe Waldron
