About Us
Cyber Telescopes in Education - Ralph and Lorraine (Smith), Australia.
Previously known as Travelling Telescopes in Education travelling to schools (NSW & QLD) with real time astronomy presentations.
Ralph has been involved with astronomy for over 35 years. He built his own telescope when a teenager, and enjoys astro photography as his main hobby. He even developed his own photos of the night sky. Halley's comet (1986) is one of his best black & white examples to this day. His career as a pilot had him flying high at night with some of his favourite objects being viewed from a great height!
Lorraine became involved through Ralph's inspiration and has been enjoying research and study for the last nine years. Daily updates and research work keep her happily busy with our new program.
(She is totally "spaced out" thesedays and can't get enough of this amazing topic!)
Providing programs for schools to share our knowledge & love of astronomy
is exciting & rewarding for both of us.

We enjoyed our skywatch site in Rockhampton 2002-2004, called "Heavens Above" which led to the incorporation of Travelling Telescopes in Education.
(Ralph flying for The Royal Flying Doctor Service, Queensland Section and Lorraine running the astronomy site.)
We operated Travelling Telescopes in Education until recently selling the business to Robin & Jenny Howard. They will continue travelling to schools with the real time astronomy programs that we began.
